Dandelion and More Exciting Pixie News!

I am so excited to finally be able to show you guys this little pixie!
She's the first doll I've made with removable clothing.
Sounds silly, but I can draft a doll or plushie pattern without a single issue, but clothes? I'm totally lost.
I think I spent two weeks just making and remaking the same dress over and over until I was satisfied. I'm still not anywhere NEAR up to par with some of the amazing doll clothing makers out there, but I'm so happy I can send these little pixies out in something!

Anyway, this is Dandelion!

Like my last little pixie, she's just five inches tall.

She's wired so she can hold some poses!
She can't stand, but her full dress allows her to sit pretty easily on her own.

After I finally got her dress to a point that I was happy with it, she insisted she needed a pair of panties. She's not indecent, after all! (Which is funny since she seems to prefer running around in only her  panties once I made them.)

And her fluffy dress was just begging to have a tutu to go underneath it!
She seems to like running around in just her tutu and panties also.
These pixies can be quite a handful.

And for more exciting tiny pixie news...My lovely friend Peggy was so sweet and created a pdf pattern and photo tutorial to make a wig, dress, and shoes for my little pixies!!

I have not decided if I'll be creating etsy listings for the nakie pixies, or if I'll just take them as custom orders only (that way you get to also give me an idea of the way you want the face painted)...so if you're interested in ordering one, message me in the shop or on Facebook.

Anyway, I'm back to work on my next doll. I am seriously excited about this one. I drew her in my sketchbook over a year ago and have been dying to make her ever since. The new tiny pixie design gave me the perfect excuse to finally get around to working on her. I love her so much already, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to let her go!

Oona the 3rd

I'm sitting here, procrastinating.
I need to get back to work on my current doll, but she's one of those I have to work out how to make her in my head first.

Anyway, what better way to procrastinate than to get caught up on my blog?
At least it's productive...right??

Here's what's becoming a very familiar face around here....Oona!
We'll just call her Oona the 3rd.
Inspired by the Bubble Guppy by the same name! (And really, why must that song always get stuck in my head??)

I wanted a pic of all three Oonas together.
I think its funny how different she looks each time.
Just goes to show you, you're always going to get an OOAK doll, even when I make a repeat!

There's also been a couple of little "runt size" fluffs that have run through here.

This little one has already been adopted...and named Cutie! (Totally appropriate, in my opinion!)

This little guy is still looking for a home in the shop!

I actually have six fluffs on my desk, waiting to be photographed.
They are going somewhere special though...more on that to come later.

Well, back to work on the next doll! She's a pretty fun custom order.
Here's a hint...she's related to Oona.

Popsicle and Yeppah Yeti

I just finished up these two monsters, and I love how they turned out!
Can't wait to make more in this style! :)

First, there's Popsicle.

 

Popsicle is a friendly little fluffy monster that just loves to play!


 He loves sunny, warm weather, and his favorite food is ice cream.

(Be careful though, he's been known to chase down the ice cream man!)

Popsicle wasn't in the shop for long before he was adopted. I'm going to miss that guy!

I've had this white fur sitting around for a bit, begging to become a yeti...so Yeppah was born.

Yeppah is a yeti, but never fear...she wouldn't dream of hurting anyone.

She's probably the gentlest yeti you'll ever meet.

She's not too happy with the high humidity here, and hopes to find a much cooler place to live (or at least someone with a good air conditioner!).

(By the way, I was trying to think of a name that started with the letter "Y" for this yeti...I started looking through baby names, and discovered Yeppah means "snow girl." Very appropriate, don't you think?)

Remember the birthday monster I made for my little guy?

He loves him! I even got a "Momma, I love you" out of it. :)
*sigh* Still can't believe he's four. Where does the time go?

Anyway, my desk is clear right now.
I always find that to be so exciting because of all the possibilities...soooo many things I've been wanting to work on, and now I can! If I could only decide what to do first...;)

What would you guys like to see in the shop?
More monsters? More fluffs?  More dolls?
All of the above? Hehe.

Four Little Fluffs

I just finished up four little Pocket Fluffs this week!

 

This guy found a home very quickly!

 

All of these little fluffs (except for the purple, black, and white one) are waiting to be adopted in the shop!

If you've been wanting a fluff, better grab one fast...they don't seem to stick around very long!

 

 

I've already started on some larger monsters for the shop!

Hopefully they'll be ready in a few days. :)

A Cuddle of Pocket Fluffs

Whew! These little Pocket Fluffs have been keeping me busy!
I decided to make a bunch for a shop update.

It was actually a lot of fun to have seven of these little guys here to play with!

These two were for a custom order.

Love the colors on this one! I think my next Pocket Fluff update will be in this color.

I'm also thinking about making a bigger guy out of this color (something similar to Furgle that I made a few weeks ago.)

These guys are all for the shop!

This little fellow is shorter and wider than the other Pocket Fluffs.
He says that just makes him more loveable though.
(He's already on his way to his new home!)

This little guy is the teeny little runt. He's just 2.5 inches tall!
He got snatched up pretty quickly.
(I'm not surprised...I *almost* decided to keep him for myself!)

This fellow found his new home right away too!

 

As I'm writing this, this poor little one is still looking for his forever home.

I think this next week I'll mostly be focusing on custom orders.
I want to mark off some of these names on the waiting list. :)

Oona, a Bubble Guppy inspired doll...and my own domain name!

Meet Oona, my newest commissioned doll!

I've always wanted to make a mermaid, so I was pretty excited when I was asked to make a doll based off one of the characters from the Bubble Guppies cartoon.

 

 

Oona is going to a very young girl, so I decided to give her felt hair instead of yarn.
She's actually my very first doll without yarn hair!

She's 9 and a half inches tall and just the right size for little hands to hold.
(At least, this is the size and shape that my one year old likes the best! She's already made it clear that I better make another one for her!)

Now that she's completed, I hope I can get that darn Bubble Guppies theme song out of my head!

In other news, I purchased my domain name!
That means now all you have to type is scribbledolls.com to reach my shop! Exciting, huh??

Now off to design the next two commissioned dolls!

Furgle, a new fluffy monster!

I was trying to clean up the giant mess Elaine left behind in my art room...and I noticed something has been shedding.
It took me awhile to discover the culprit.
He kept scurrying away from me, but I finally caught him!

This is Furgle!

 

 

 

I'm kind of in love with this little critter!
He and I had a wonderful time playing outside today (the nice weather helped too).

Furgle is looking for a new home in the shop!

I'll be back to working on the dolls from the waiting list next! :)
