River, the Water Pixie

I'm sure it'll come as no surprise that I love creating dolls.
I love sketching them and planning them out in my head.
I love carefully sewing all the little stitches.
I love painting their faces.
It's like a little bit of magic happens with every step. They slowly emerge and turn into their own little personalities as I complete them.

River was no exception.
She's the very first of the Scribble Dolls Pixies. (Yes, that means there will be many more, I'm sure!)

I really took my time with this girl.
I'd actually sketched her out and had her body mostly put together in October!

I knew she was going to be really special (she is the very first pixie, after all) so I wanted to enjoy our time together as I created her.

She is about 10.5" tall.
She can't sit or stand without something to assist her, but she can still be manipulated into some fun poses!

Her clothing is not removable.
I'm hoping to one day figure out a simple dress pattern so that future pixies will have that option though.
(I'm a bit clueless when it comes to clothing design, so we'll see!)

River is currently looking for a new home in the shop.

I'm really excited about these new pixies and can hardly wait to add more!
I'm dreaming of being able to make them more poseable in the future also (only bad thing about that is that it'll increase the price. Maybe I'll offer both options? Guess I better work out how I'm going to accomplish that before I worry too much about the details though. ;) )

Anyway, I hope you guys are enjoying this (slightly) new direction as much as I am!

Oh, and keep an eye on the shop...I'm thinking there's a few special edition Valentine Pocket Fluffs that'll be popping in there soon!

  3. Oh, I saw the lovely drawings for this, but I missed the post with the doll photos. She's gorgeous and I really love those downturned ears!
